A Coach’s Perspective: What I gained from attending the Myeloma Crowd Round Table in San Diego, CA
The Myeloma Crowd recently hosted a Round Table event in San Diego, CA. These events are day long education meetings with top myeloma experts. Each meeting is focused on assisting patients and caregivers in making the best decisions about their treatment and care.
Several Myeloma Coaches were in attendance at this event and shared what they learned, and what attending allowed them to do.
“After attending the Round Table I appreciate, even more, the benefits of HealthTree, especially the research questionnaires that speed up research. It also helped me connect with a few patients that needed encouragement & support. The conference made me thankful for Jenny & Paul Ahlstrom, their staff, and the incredible doctors that volunteer their time to help us understand our disease. Lastly, attending made me feel confident that with everyone working together, we can reach a cure faster.” -Heidi
“The Round Table was a great program—very balanced. The here and now standard of care was well addressed as well as the near and long term future. I met many people who knew nothing about HealthTree and have already heard from three attendees that are looking for help in getting started with HealthTree!! The doctors were very informative and if one wishes anything, it would be that they had more time. All had to rush through their presentations and you couldn’t help but want to hear what they didn’t get to say. It was great to meet Jenny and Paul in person. The entire day had such incredible energy to it! Thanks to Greg for his excellent management of the logistics and the food was really good too!!” -Thom
“The San Diego Myeloma Crowd Roundtable helped me to understand more about Myeloma, so that I could ask better questions of my doctor. I learned about new treatments and combinations available so I know that if one stops working, there are so many more to be tried.” -Angela
Thank you to all who attended and supported the Round Table event.
