Healing and Survivorship with Multiple Myeloma

Many myeloma doctors say that they select treatment based on fitness level and not on age. While the myeloma roller coaster can include treatment recovery, remission and more treatment, what we do during times of recovery are critical for our outcomes. It may be how strong we are that determines our future quality of life.

"After my treatment was over, I started going to the gym to be a support to my daughter, who was working with a personal trainer.  The personal trainer wanted me to do more reps and lift heavier weights than I was comfortable doing because she had no idea what I had just been through. But just going and doing what I could even for a few minutes helped me mentally and emotionally almost more than physically. Suddenly, I no longer felt like I was just "the patient." I started to feel like myself again." Anne, Myeloma Survivor

We've created a page called Healing and Survivorship to help you learn more about what you can do emotionally, physically and mentally to help guide your next steps and get your very best outcomes.
