New in HealthTree: Better Clinical Trial Matching for Multiple Myeloma Patients

In HealthTree, our partnership with SparkCures allows you to see a customized list of clinical trials. Now that list is even better and more personal. We made recent HealthTree updates that allow your current lab values and your genetic features to be passed to SparkCures to further narrow your list of treatment options.

Why is this important? Many clinical trials have eligibility criteria, like a certain level of platelets or light chains, that you must have in order to join a study. Additionally, new studies are opening up for patients with specific myeloma genetic features. With this addition, your labs, genetics and your prior treatments are customizing your list.

Myeloma research is rapidly advancing and there are over 100 new drugs/treatments being developed in myeloma. Confusing, right? Now, instead of looking through 450 open studies on, HealthTree and SparkCures will send you a manageable list of studies that you are eligible to join.

Clinical trials should always be considered at each stage of disease. Please don’t wait until you are out of options to join a clinical trial, because you may not qualify if you use clinical trials as your "last option." Less than 5% of adult cancer patients join studies, but 80% say they would if they understood what was available and how to join. We’ve removed major barriers to make things easier for you.

This is the first time in any cancer that a patient’s individual (and complete) situation has been matched to available clinical trials. Once you have completed your HealthTree profile, look at your Clinical Trials to see your options. If you need more help joining the studies, call SparkCures at 1-888-828-2206 and they can help you through the process with their concierge service.

We are unbelievably lucky to have this in multiple myeloma. We hope you take advantage of this rare opportunity to be matched with earlier access to up-and-coming treatment in myeloma. With no known cure, patients can help move the field forward by participating in clinical trials.

If you're already using HealthTree, please spend a few minutes and make sure your HealthTree profile is complete. If you need help with your genetics or labs, give us a call at 1-800-709-1113 and we will walk you through it.

If you'd like to join, we would love for you to join over 4,000 patients using the tool. You can create an account here:
